Being the "Normal" One

I have spent a lot of time in my life reflecting on what it would be like to switch positions with my brother, but I understand that can never happen. In a way, I have had to come to terms with being the "normal" one. As I became more and more conscious that I was viewed as the normal one, I started to feel more and more pressure to live up to that label. It is only when I began to see being normal as being capable when I started to feel motivation instead of pressure. The vast majority of people are capable of communicating with and relating to each other, in my eyes, means that they are "normal". Being the normal one out of my parents two children meant to me that I had to be capable of as many things as would compensate for my brothers unfortunate incapabilities. This redefining of terms in my own head changed my perspective on life itself, and proved to be my number one motivating factor to learning new things, and being fearless in showcasing my capabilities. You cannot control or change the hand of cards you were dealt, so instead of using it as an excuse for failure, find a way to turn it into something that motivates you to be a better person every day.
